Equine-Assisted Faith Based Arts Therapy

Where Nature, Horses, Art, and Faith Come Together for Healing

Seeing so many facing challenges, Dr. Veronica Ent, professor of education, turned to her to art instruction practices as a way to help others process and heal. Along this path, she met Ms. Amanda Baker, RN, a compassionate hospice and mental health nurse educator with a shared passion for nature, creativity, and Christian counseling. What began as a mutual exchange of experiences quickly evolved into something much deeper: a healing ministry that blends expressive arts, equine-assisted therapy, and faith.

Drawing inspiration from emerging nature-based therapies, especially those found on the West Coast, Dr. Ent explored the concept of nature and equine-assisted expressive arts. While these programs typically exclude a spiritual component, she and Amanda felt called to fill that gap with scripture, prayer, and Christ-centered reflection. With Dr. Ent’s formal background in art education and equine care (a passion shared with her late mother), and Amanda’s experience in mental health and spiritual counseling, they created a deeply restorative experience for others seeking emotional and spiritual renewal.
